The best part of wedding planning has to be cake tasting. But choosing a wedding cake requires a little more food for thought then most people anticipate. Here are our 5 tips on how to plan your wedding cake tasting:

Tip #3: Savor every bite: Never go to a wedding cake tasting hungry. It’ll be difficult to remain objective when your stomach is emotionally attached to what’s in front of you. Try tasting the cake with and without icing. Experiment with combining different cake and icing flavors. Did you find the cake too dry? Too moist? Is the icing too sweet? Too buttery? Make sure you cleanse your palate between each sample.

Tip #4: Customize: Are you inviting guests with food allergies or diet restrictions? Find out if you can swap out any ingredients or include other add-ons such as filling, design and cake toppers.

Tip #5: Seal the deal: Congratulations! You’ve finally selected your cake. Last thing to do is see if your vendor provides the cake stand and delivery.
