Craig and I met at bible school in Owen Sound, Ontario. I’m a Canadian girl who grew up on the Island of Bermuda and he’s a Canadian boy who mostly grew up in Stayner. We became good friends over the course of our first year in school and built a really strong friendship that has continued to grow and develop over the last 2 and half years.
This past Christmas, Craig spent the holidays with me and my family in Bermuda. On Christmas eve he woke me up bright and early saying that he was just dying to go for a scooter ride. We got dressed and set out for what I thought was going to be a random adventure. Little did I know, Craig had planned out our whole morning.
We started at a horse stable and got suited up to go horseback riding on the beach. I started to get suspicious when I saw my mom’s car parked down at the beach so Craig tried to distract me by asking if I had ever climbed the the giant boulders that peppered the jagged coastline.
The irony in this is that my dad was hiding out on those very rocks, just waiting for the perfect moment to snap a picture of the impending proposal! We continued riding until we got to a small cove where my mom had set up a picnic for us. It was there that he asked me to be his wife and I, of course, said YES!
