When my fiance first tried to propose it didn’t go nearly as well as he had planned. His plan was that we go to the place where he first said he loved me – the top of Elk Mountain – and ask me there.
Well, he was so impatient to propose he ended up convincing me (and I was very reluctant to go) to hike the mountain in April. Well, this is a tall mountain and it’s already a couple hours hike, but in April it was still covered in ice and snow so it ended up taking us two and a half hours to get to the top.
By the time I got up to the top I was cold, grumpy and very sore from my numerous falls in the ice, so I told him that I wanted to just go right back down and half a shower (in a very grumpy manner).
I gave him no chance to ask me before I headed straight back down, ruining his proposal. In the end, he let me have a hot shower at home and he surprised me when I got out with hot coffee and my favourite donuts and asked me there.
