All of my brides have been so different that it is hard to choose a favorite, however; there is one moment that sticks out in my head and will for a very long time. Back in June, I did a wedding at Liuna Gardens (in Hamilton, ON). I had been working with my couple for a few months in preparation for this day. It was one of my favorite parts of the day, when I get to send the bride and her father down the aisle, just something about it that is a very proud moment for me. As I am waiting for the cue, I look back at my bride and her dad, as they are standing there, they look at each other and without words they give each other a nod like “let’s do this thing”. They then look back at me and with tears in both of their eyes they mouth the words “thank you” to me. I send them off reassured and justified that I am the luckiest person ever to be able to have this job. The fact that they were so calm and genuinely happy showed me that I did my job properly; it’s a moment that I will never forget.
Who’s wedding would you love to plan?
A wedding that I would love to plan, if they were not already married, would be Tori Spelling and Dean McDermott. I picture them having a very unique outdoor, vintage barn wedding with all of their goats and chickens! They are such a fun couple and love the DIY projects, as do I, it would be such a fun challenge. Too bad they already know how to plan weddings.
