DIY RUSTIC SUMMER TORONTO WEDDING
Hilary and Matt were connected by mutual friends, but it took him about 4 years to find the courage to propose. They had a beautiful rustic wedding and all their DIY decor was made by the bride and her lovely daughters!
The bride and groom knew that they would get married, but Hilary was simply waiting for the groom to give her the ring and propose! It happened one afternoon, as the bride was heading to Costco (one of her favourite places) with her daughters. Her little girl revealed that she had the ring that her dad had bought for Hilary. She was delighted. The next day, while watching a Yankees game, Matt decided to give Hilary the ring (in the intermission off course).
The couple’s wedding song was chosen after they toyed with many, many song ideas. One day, while Hilary was in a Hallmark card store, she saw a little leather jewellery box, that would be the perfect size to hold the tie and clip that she had bought Matt for the wedding. As soon as she opened it, one of the songs that they liked the most started playing. That’s when she knew it was the one!

Wisdom from the bride: “Don’t Sweat the Small Stuff! This was key on my day – I am a complete control freak, but the day of the wedding I knew that I had done all I could do and it was all up to fate – my maid of honours zipper broke, I drove myself to the ceremony in my bridesmaids car because I couldn’t find my car keys, the speakers and mic we rented and brought 2.5 hrs with us for the ceremony didn’t get set up – but at the end of the day it was the best day of my life, I married the man I love and I was able to share that with all of my family and friends! My MOH was sewn into her dress by another bridesmaid (a talent I didn’t know she had!), I made it to the ceremony, and everyone was able to hear our ceremony without the mic/speakers! It all works out in the end, and if it’s meant to be it’ll happen!”
