Welcome ladies and gentleman to another one of our Weddingful blogs. I hope you are having a great week so far and I hope you have an even better weekend. As a blogger I do a lot of research about weddings as well as make sure to follow other blogs, forums, read magazines and watch the TV shows. One of my favorite shows has to be Say Yes to the Dress! I just love how they capture all the emotion and excitement and sometimes the jitters the bride-to-be has. The only thing that became my biggest pet peeve from watching this show (and I know a lot of you will agree with me) is when a bride falls in love with a dress but has all her support giving their opinion on it and changing her mind. It’s like they’re the ones wearing the dress!

Second piece of advice would be – Know your style
It’s funny, a lot of brides change their mind at every appointment about the style of dress they were in love with. They’ll come in looking for an A-line yet come out with a mermaid gown. This is why it would be the best to think of a style that suits your personality before the appointment. If you can’t do it using your imagination, make two appointments; one to try different styles and cut down your options and the second for the actual gown. With lots of support you can expect lots of different styles therefore you want to make sure you know your own before you get their opinions.

My last advice would be – Stick to your guns!
You have to make sure you get a strong backbone before going into appointments with your stubborn siblings or your extravagant mother who wants to see you in the sparkliest Pnina Tornai gown that the store has. Make sure you stick to your opinion if you really believe it. That being said, you should keep at least a little bit of an open mind, even if it means trying on a dress that your mother picked out for you. You never know, you might like it and even if you don’t at least you can say you tried it and it just didn’t work for you. However, if you do find that perfect wedding dress and in your heart you know it’s the one then no one else’s opinion should matter. In the end you are the one that will be walking down the aisle to marry the man of your dreams in the dress of your dreams.

Well I hope my advice helps you out a little. We all know how stressful it can be finding that perfect dress but with a little patience and a strong opinion I believe you will do just fine.

Have a great weekend!
